Philosophical & Spiritual Talk

What I offer: One-on-one, exploring the questions that don’t have easy answers — meaning and purpose, grief and mortality, faith and doubt, the search for orientation in a disoriented life. Drawing on philosophical and religious traditions, I help people think more clearly, not tell them what to believe. This is philosophical counseling, not therapy: we work with ideas, frameworks, and reflection, not clinical treatment.

Why trust me with this: I’ve spent 12 years as a professor of philosophy and religion, teaching and researching the very questions you’re bringing to the table — not as an interested amateur, but as someone whose life’s work has been studying how different traditions and thinkers have wrestled with meaning. I’ve guided many students through their own existential and intellectual crises in the classroom and in office hours long before I ever called it “consulting.” What you get here isn’t a generic framework pulled from a self-help book — it’s the same rigor, humility, and depth I bring to my academic work, applied to your actual life.

If you’re navigating something urgent or clinical, philosophical guidance isn’t a substitute for mental health care .

Academic Consulting

What I offer: Support for graduate students, early-career academics, and institutions on research design, dissertation and manuscript development, publication strategy, and curriculum design in philosophy and religious studies. This includes chapter-by-chapter dissertation feedback, help sharpening a research question or methodology, guidance on where and how to publish, and course/syllabus design for institutions building out programs in these areas.

Why trust me with this: I  have spent 12 years as a professor, during which I’ve supervised many dissertations, published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles/books,  and designed some courses from the ground up. I know what a strong research proposal looks like because I’ve reviewed hundreds of them — as an advisor, a peer reviewer, and a committee member. This isn’t general “academic coaching” — it’s field-specific expertise from someone who has done, and continues to do, the work you’re trying to succeed at.
